Effective January 1, 2025, the Mold Remediation Registration Act has been amended and requires parties providing mold remediation services in residential, public, and commercial buildings in Illinois be registered with the State and provide proof of financial responsibility. The amendment requires that a mold remediation certification, offered by a limited number of specific organizations that have been approved by the Department of Public Health, be submitted to the department.
