Protex Frame Protection™ is a clear drying wood protectant designed be used on all non-exterior surfaces. Its uses include such surfaces as structural framing, sub floors, ceiling joists, truss systems, wallboard as well as many other cellulosic construction materials. It delivers long-term protection by penetrating cellulosic surfaces, such as wood, and bonding at a molecular level. (RTU)
Description
- Protex Frame Protection™ coatings are green/natural, clay/ceramic-based surface protectants that use non-VOC emitting acrylic binders to maximize longevity, water repellency and abrasion resistance. They are formulated with all conditions, surfaces and applications in mind to meet the varied needs of professionals working on everything from floors and ceilings to exterior masonry and interior wall cavities.

- Frame Protection™ is a clear drying wood protectant designed to be used on all interior and unconditioned areas of a structure. Its uses include such surfaces as structural framing, sub floors, ceiling joists, truss systems, wallboard as well as many other cellulosic construction materials. It delivers long-term protection by penetrating cellulosic surfaces, and bonding at a molecular level.
- Frame Protection™ contains durable, non-leaching EPA registered antimicrobials that permanently guard against and help protect the coating surface from mold, mildew, odor-causing microorganisms, black fungal staining, bacterial and fungal slime films. Since these materials are built into the molecular structure of the coating, they won’t wash off or wear away. This protection lasts the useful life of the coating film. Frame Protection™ forms a chemical and abrasion resistant surface while meeting ASTM D5590-00, D3273, D3274 and G-21 requirements for fungal resistance. It meets current VOC requirements (LD-50) and requires no respiratory protective equipment during application.
- Frame Protection™ is a high performance coating that penetrates, coats and protects surfaces in one quick step while leaving behind a tough, washable, abrasion/water proof coating. While highly water and abrasion resistant, it allows for reasonable water vapor permeance to prevent against dry rot.
